About
Getting to know the Gifted Support Network
The Gifted Support Network is a registered association founded in 1998 by parents in Melbourne, Australia.
We support families of gifted and twice-exceptional children across Victoria.
Members are families who have discovered that their children share many of the typical traits of giftedness, or educators and professionals who want to learn more about supporting gifted and twice-exceptional children.
We provide relevant information, resources and support to families and educators.
Our events allow like minded kids, teens and their parents to meet up in safe and fun environments for a wide variety of activities. Be sure to check our events page for regular updates.
We acknowledge the individual, social, emotional and intellectual needs of gifted and twice-exceptional children and their families throughout the various stages of development from infancy to the teen years and beyond.
Gifted Support Network members have the opportunity to enrich their parenting, teaching and learning journey through information sessions, social opportunities and learning from the experience of others.
We also work to improve community awareness and understanding of the special needs of the gifted.
New members are always warmly welcomed.
We have a Facebook page where you can find all of our news and events. It is also updated regularly with interesting information and links to all things 'gifted'.
We also run a Facebook forum for conversations and advice.
We are a Registered Association, Number A0050348G.
Our Committee
GSN is run by a team of volunteers who, as parents of gifted and twice-exceptional children, enjoy the benefits of friendship and support from their fellow Committee Members. We invite you to consider joining our wonderful Committee. We really are a friendly bunch, and we find that the regular connection helps keep us going through the ups and downs of raising gifted kids.
Please contact us if you'd like to take part.
